This site has evolved from a Millenium 2000 project to transcribe the Parish Registers of Brassington. An exhibition of Brassington memorabilia and photographs in July 2000 was a great success with a lot of family history being added to the Village Database by locals and visitors whose ancestors came from Brassington. Since then all entries in Census Returns and entries in the Parish Registers have been entered in the Database. In addition to the historical and genealogical aspects it was thought that information on present activities in the village would be useful. Accordingly this web site has been created.
Many visitors to the village are named BRASSINGTON. Unfortunately there is no one of that name in the Parish registers, which date from the early 1700s. |
