Brassington & Longcliffe Neighbourhood Watch


A meeting was held on 8th August at the Village Hall to discuss the launch of a Neighbourhood Watch scheme.

Pat Horrocks has very kindly offered to be the area co-ordinator.

If anyone is interested in joining the scheme they should email Pat at thehorrocks@googlemail.com

The Neighbourhood Watch scheme provides a valuable link with the police who give advice on crime and anti-social behaviour reduction.

Ringmaster
The Neighbourhood Watch scheme also allows residents to take part in a community messaging service by email/fax/telephone/mobile of any incidents or suspicious behaviour happening in and around the Brassington neighbourhood.

The following goods can be purchased through the Neighbourhood Watch at a discount.

Smartwater £17.50
This is a liquid which has a unique number in it (like DNA) and this can be used to mark property. Smartwater is impossible to remove. The number is registered on a database by Smartwater Ltd. RRP £45

UV Keyrings £2.50
These can be used to tell if your property has been marked or not.

Chain and padlock £5.00

Dawn to dusk bulb £6.50

Intruder alarm
£7.50

Remote car alarm
£14.95

Shed alarm
£5.00

If you have your property surveyed, you may be able to have crime-prevention devices supplied and fitted free by the Handy Man Scheme.

All surveys are carried out free of charge by trained Police Officers.
